Holy moley! 2001 page views?! I mean...wow!
I wish I had some cute drawing for this milestone or even some remotely clever story. But unfortunately, I don't at the moment.
But regardless of that, I just want to say...

Reasons I Write
I feel like there are times in my life when I have no control over anything. And I think that's a big part of why I write. I write to make sense of the world I live in and to create a world where what I want to happen can happen. I can be anything I want to be and go anywhere I want to go:
I can be straight or I can be gay. I can experiment with kissing the same gender without any repercussions.
I can rewrite an experience I've had in real life and imagine a way things might have turned out differently if I had chosen to act or made a different decision.
A guy I had a crush on becomes a character in an original novel; the same guy is the b
Revision and Editing: Things I'm Learning
1. I'm much more productive and clear headed when I edit in the morning than at night.
2. I use filler words "Yeah" and "Looking" A LOT. Seriously, how many time can someone just look at something or someone?
3. I just identified several sections of the novel that are complete filler/fluff and have zero bearing on the story.
Devious Journal Entry
I need to figure out a different way to track how much time I've spent revising my 2012 Nano novel. First I was using an app called Activity Tracker and that seemed to be working fairly well. Until I went to start it today and discovered it was still running from yesterday. So unfortunately, that count wasn't accurate.
Then I tried the Wordly app, an app I'd used before that let's you track how many words you've written for a project (whether the project is a short story or a novel). I thought I could get away with using it to time myself and not have to enter the word count, but...that wasn't the case. When I was finished revising tonight,
Writing Progress for Today
First off, I need to start utilizing this site more than I do. I think it has a ton of potential if I just decide to tap into it.
Second, I've printed out one of my Nano novels from waay back in 2012 and have started editing it. So far, if the app I was using earlier was any indication, I spent about an hour and eight minutes revising tonight.
As a side note, I'm still not sure how best to track my revisions; I just want to track how many hours I log doing this (out of curiosity). At any rate, I'm hoping to have at least the first chapter or two uploaded here sometime this weekend.
